To print using your own device using RUMobilityPrint:


Ensure the device you want to send jobs to is connected to the internet. Click here for more information on connecting to WiFi on campus. 
To ensure a smooth transition to the new PaperCut, please follow the instructions for Windows and Mac devices:

  1. Instructions for Windows Devices:

    1. Check Network Connection: Ensure you have an active internet connection.  
    2. Open Printers & Scanners: Press the start menu, type "printers," and select "Printers & Scanners" from the results.
    3. Remove the Old “RUMobilityPrint” Printer: Locate any printer named "RUprint" or "RUMobilityPrint," click on it, and choose "Remove Device." Repeat this step until all instances of "RUprint" and "RUMobilityPrint" are removed.
    4. Add New RUMobility Print Printer: Visit https://papercutmf.rockhurst.edu:9164/client-setup/known-host/windows.html, and click on the green download button. Download and install the software. Select "RUMobilityPrint" as the printer, and click next. Authenticate using your Rockhurst username and password, and then click finish.
    5. Close the Window: After successfully adding the printer, close the "Printers & Scanners" window.
    6. Set Default Printer: Press the start menu again, type "printers," and open "Printers & Scanners." Uncheck the box at the bottom of the screen that says "Let Windows manage my default printer." Find the printer named "RUMobilityPrint on PAPERCUTMF," click on it, and choose "Manage." Click "Set as Default."
    7. Printing: Send your print jobs just like you would to any other printer and you should be able to choose color, black & white, duplex and staple options.  
    8. Releasing print jobs:  Go to any printer on campus and swipe your ID badge and choose release print jobs.
    9. Contact Helpdesk: If you encounter any issues or receive a message about insufficient privileges, please contact the Helpdesk at 816-501-4357. They will be able to assist you remotely in installing the new print queue.

    Instructions for Mac Devices:

    1. Check Network Connection: Ensure you have an active internet connection. (Refer to the aforementioned available networks)
    2. Open Printers: Click the Apple logo at the top left of your screen and choose "System Preferences."
    3. Navigate to “Printers & Scanners”: From System Preferences, open "Printers & Scanners."
    4. Remove Old Devices: Remove any printers with the name "RUprint" or "RUMobilityPrint" by highlighting the printer and clicking the "-" sign. Confirm the deletion and close Printers & Scanners.
    5. Add New RUMobility Print Printer: Visit https://papercutmf.rockhurst.edu:9164/client-setup/macos.html, and click on the green download button. Download and open the software. Run the file named "PaperCut Mobility Client.pkg" and follow the installation instructions. Authenticate with your Mac credentials and click “Install Software.” After successful installation, choose "Move to Trash" and close the installation window.
    6. Printing:  When you are ready to print, you will choose “RUMobilityPrint” as the printer and click print.  You should also be able to choose color, black & white, duplex and staple options.  The first time you print, you will be prompted for a username and password to print.  BE SURE TO USE YOUR ROCKHURST USERNAME AND PASSWORD HERE AND NOT YOUR MAC USERNAME AND PASSWORD OR THIS WILL NOT WORK AND YOUR ROCKHURST NETWORK ACCOUNT MAY GET LOCKED OUT.  Check the box to remember it and click “ok”.  
    7. Releasing print jobs:  Go to any printer on campus and swipe your ID badge and choose release print jobs.

      Once you have updated your device to use the new PaperCut environment, there will be no change to how you print or release print jobs from each campus printer. Students will continue to manage available print funds in their PaperCut account at https://papercutmf.rockhurst.edu/user

Troubleshooting:

  • If you have experienced issues with the print queue in the past: Remove the old print queue(s) from your device. On Macs this can be done from System Preferences > Printers and Scanners. On Windows this can be done from Control Panel > View devices and printers. 
  • If you're unable to access the internet while on the 'rockhurst' or 'RUWireless' WiFi networks: Go to neverssl.com, if prompted to sign in, sign in with your Rockhurst portal username and password. Check the Connecting to WiFi article for a detailed tutorial on connecting to the network.
  • If the page with the client download is not loading: Try using a private window in your browser. Try clearing your browser's cache. Try accessing the link from another browser.
  • For Mac users, if your print job is in the queue holding for authentication: Click the refresh arrow icon next to the print job in the queue. When prompted for your credentials, ensure you use your Rockhurst portal username and password. If this does not resolve the issue, try resetting your password.
