Authentication Error! Attention: Something went wrong during the authentication process. Please try signing in again.
Cause of Error Message
This error message occurs when attempting to log in to an expired instance of the Rockhurst Portal. Expired instances of the portal can be loaded by bookmarks or favorites, or by cached site data. To correct the error, steps will need to be taken to ensure a fresh instance of the portal is loaded on each new login.
Fixing the Error Message
Change your Portal bookmark or favorite.
Google Chrome:

In the address bar of your browser, enter the following: chrome://bookmarks/
- Alternatively, click the three vertical dots in the top right of your browser window, then find the "Bookmarks" option and select "Bookmark Manager."
- Alternatively, use the keyboard shortcut [Ctrl] + [Shift] + [O] (Windows) or [Shift] + [Cmd] + [O] (macOS).
- To the right of the bookmark, click the three vertical dots to the right, and select "Edit."
- Change the URL address to: https://my.rockhurst.edu
- Press "Save."
Mozilla Firefox:

Click the "Bookmarks" menu located in the top left, and select "Show All Bookmarks" (if the menu bar is hidden, press [Alt] to make it visible).
- Alternatively, use the keyboard shortcut [Ctrl] + [Shift] + [B] (Windows) or [Shift] + [Cmd] + [B] (macOS).
- Select the "QuickLaunch SSO" bookmark, and change the "Location" to: https://my.rockhurst.edu
Clear your browser's cache, cookies, and history.
Google Chrome:

In the address bar of your browser, enter the following: chrome://settings/clearBrowserData
- Alternatively, use the keyboard shortcut [Ctrl] + [Shift] + [Del] (Windows) or [Shift] + [Cmd] + [Del] (macOS).
- Alternatively, click the three vertical dots in the top right of your browser window. Then find the “More Tools” option and select “Clear browsing data."
- At the top of the Clear browsing data window, click "Advanced."

Select the following:
- Browsing history
- Download history
- Cookies and other site data
- Cached images and files
- From the “Time range” drop-down menu, select the desired range; to clear your entire cache, select “All time.”
- Click "Clear Data" to delete the selected items.
- Exit/quit all browser windows and reopen the browser.
Mozilla Firefox:

- Alternatively, use the keyboard shortcut [Ctrl] + [Shift] + [Del] (Windows) or [Shift] + [Cmd] + [Del] (macOS).
- Alternatively, click the "History" menu located in the top left and select "Clear Recent History" (if the menu bar is hidden, press [Alt] to make it visible).
- From the "Time Range to clear:" drop-down menu, select the desired range; to clear your entire cache, select "Everything."

Under "History", select the following:
- Browsing & Download History
- Active Logins
- Form & Search History
- Cookies
- Cache
- Click "OK" to delete the selected items.
- Exit/quit all browser windows and reopen the browser.
